This session is facilitated by Simon Mareko and explores the competency ‘Explores hononga – identifying and strengthening connectedness’.
This is related to the Hononga Mana Taiohi principle:
- Builds, strengthens or restores a young person’s connectedness to their key social environments (whānau, peers, education/training/vocation and communities), through the layers of relationships, land (whenua) and digital space
- Specifically focuses on the role of parents, family, whānau and caregivers, acknowledging the primary relationship of the youth worker with the young person
- Aware of, and able to engage relationally and ethically with, young people in online spaces, including social media
Korowai Tupu and Rerenga Awa | Canterbury Youth Workers Collective invite you to embark on an online training journey about the Core Competencies of Youth Work. Experts from all over Aotearoa have been recruited to host 10x sessions.
